As expected, Finnish company Jolla has just revealed its first smartphone, which is set to arrive on the market by the end of 2013.
Sailfish uses the core distribution of Mer, implements the MeeGo API, its own in-house interface, and heavily promotes the use of HTML5 along with Qt and QML.
The phone is targeted to sell by year’s end for around $500 USD. The phone is a Jolla original design with 4.5-inch display, dual-core SoC, 4G connectivity, 16GB of storage microSD, an 8MP camera, user-replaceable battery, and will ship with Sailfish OS. While being powered by Sailfish, it will be compatible with Android applications.
